e-Mpowering Teachers

I am working on a project for my coursework in Instructional Design at UCLA (offered externally ofcourse!) and I have been researching some tools (software in particular) available that can convert various applications to other formats. With a lot of research, I found a site that many of you (teacher's are you listening...?) might be interested in looking at. It is free and will convert your word documents to PDFs, convert Flash to Windows Media and more... http://media-convert.com/convert/. What else does this site offer...? (Please sir! Can I have some more?) - MORE?!?! ok, alright - here it is:

* Insert a PDF into your web page by converting it into an SWF Flash file.

* Export easily Microsoft Access database to an Excel table.

* Capture a website as an image.

* Encode a text with UTF-8 codes or with one of 900 other charsets.

There are more sites like this (probably worth a look):

* http://zamzar.com

* http://vixy.net

* http://keepvid.com

Also for the lazybones - try: http://www.scribd.com/ which will convert an uploaded text document into an .mp3 file! It will read it back to you - the voice is a little mechanical, but pretty impressive nonetheless.
